  117. TCN PROGRAM INSTALLATION AND STARTUP

  119. Installation and startup of The CONSTITUTION Notebook Program can be
  120. slightly different depending on whether your copy came from a CD-ROM, a
  121. disk vendor, or a BBS.
  122.

  125. TCN PROGRAM STARTUP
  126.  
  127. The first time the TCN program is run following installation, up to 9
  128. screens are automatically displayed to help you get started.  Spend as
  129. much time as you like on each screen.  (You CAN manually access them
  130. later.)

  132. The last of these screens offers to automatically start Tutorial I.
  133. TCNbP Company urges you to click Yes.
  134.  
  135. Some CD-ROM install programs will automatically launch the TCN program
  136. after installing it.  This is ok.
  137.  
  138. Otherwise, the TCN program is generally started using the Program Manager
  139. icon.  You can also start it from the file manager TCN.EXE icon or by
  140. using the Run option of the Windows Program Manager File menu.
  141.  
  142. NOTE:  Do not attempt to run TCN.EXE directly from the CD-ROM (by
  143. clicking on the TCN.EXE icon or by using the Run option of the Windows
  144. Program Manager File menu).  It will not work.

  148. INSTALLATION FROM CD-ROM
  149.  
  150. Some CD-ROMs include a "canned" install program which can be used to
  151. install many or all of the programs contained on the CD-ROM.  TCNbP
  152. Company allows the TCN program to be installed by such programs.  Consult
  153. your CD-ROM documentation.  If its canned install program will install
  154. the TCN program, you can use it.
  155.  
  156. NOTE:  If your CD-ROM does not include such an install program, you can
  157. install the TCN program using SETUP.EXE or TCNSTALL.BAT.

  161. INSTALLATION FROM DISKETTES
  162.  
  163. Use the program SETUP.EXE to install the TCN program from diskettes.

  165. NOTE:  If SETUP.EXE is not included (or does not work on your machine, as
  166. sometimes happens), use TCNSTALL.BAT and then run TCNSETUP.EXE from the
  167. target install directory you indicated.  See the file SETUP.DOC in the
  168. target install directory for more information.

  172. INSTALLATION FROM BBS DOWNLOADS

  174. To install the TCN program using files downloaded from a BBS:
  175.  
  176. 1.  Unzip the compressed file in a scratch directory.
  177.  
  178. 2.  Use TCNSTALL.BAT to install the TCN program files in the directory
  179. where you will operate it.

  181. 3.  Run TCNSETUP.EXE to create the Program Manager icon for the TCN
  182. program.  When the prompt appears concerning the icon only option, click
  183. Yes.

  199. LIMITED LICENSE FOR USE OF THE TCN PROGRAM

  201. TCNbP Company grants you a limited license to use the TCN program for
  202. evaluation purposes as follows:

  204. ANYONE can use the TCN program for the greater of 20 times or thirty
  205. days.

  207. STUDENTS enrolled in:   public school,

  209.                         parochial school,
  210.                         college,

  218. HOMESCHOOLED STUDENTS can use the TCN program up to one school year, not
  219. to exceed twelve months.

  222. program for the trial period that applies to you.  If you use the TCN
  223. program beyond the applicable trial period, you are obligated to
  224. register.  Refer to the various options of the Shareware menu (within the

  234. LIMITED DISTRIBUTION LICENSE FOR THE TCN PROGRAM

  237. permanent license.  TCNbP Company grants this distribution license to

  240. ANYONE can distribute unmodified copies of the TCN Program trial version

  243. ANYONE can charge a nominal fee for providing trial copies to
